We are pleased to announce Dr Stijn Dongelmans is joining the Helena Estate Medical team. Before joining Helena Estate, Dr Stijn worked in the Wheatbelt and with Silverchain palliative care. Throughout, he has become known for his calm and warmth. He values adjusting the medical approach to the goals and values of each individual patient. As well as clinical practice, Dr Stijn works for the Royal Australian College of GPs, training new GPs.
Dr Stijn completed his medical degree in the Netherlands, before falling in love with an Aussie and moving to W.A. He has since worked in several major Perth hospitals. With experience across a variety of disciplines, he became especially proficient in cardiology and geriatric medicine. He has complemented this by working in public health and research, publishing internationally.
In his spare time, Dr Stijn enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, trail-running, walking in the nearby hills, and spending time outdoors.
